Business License Information
The Town of Thompson's Station has a business license requirement for businesses operating within the Town. The Town issues the initial license, but the Tennessee Department of Revenue will administer and process your annual business tax return.
You are required to fill out a business tax license application form:
The application form may be entered online or by
printing out a form and completing it manually.
If you choose to
fill out an application online, you will
print out an confirmation page that you must submit to the Town by mail or in
person along with your $15.00 application fee and your business tax license will
be issued by the Town.
If you choose to print out an application to obtain a business license, submit this form by mail or in person along with your $15.00 application fee and your business tax license will be issued by the Town. Special Note: If you are operating your
business from a residence in Thompson's Station, you must fill out a
Home Occupation
Application or
Residential Business Application and submit it to the Town Administrator for approval. Obtaining a
business license does not mean you have been approved for a home
occupation or residential business, so you should obtain this approval before applying
for a business license.
