The Williamson County Board of Education voted unanimously on Monday to uphold guidelines, or parameters, that will allow district staff to start drawing zoning boundaries for the new middle school on Henpeck Lane in Franklin.
However, superintendent Jason Golden said the approval of the three guidelines has a caveat.
"I recommend passage of the memo as is and will consider all of those factors we talked about in the work session (in setting the zoning lines)," Golden said.
The school board voted to uphold the following zoning parameters for the middle school on Henpeck Lane:
- Minimize the impact on families as much as reasonably possible
- Maintain consistent feeder patterns as much as reasonably possible
- When possible, zone planned developments prior to construction to optimize school capacities...
