Each year tnAchieves recruits 9,000 volunteer mentors to support TN Promise students as they transition from high school through their first semester of college. TN Promise students are graduating at a rate 21 percentage points higher than their non-TN Promise peers at the same institutions. The financial component of TN Promise is important but we understand the non-financial support of a mentor is equally, if not more, important.
There are less than two months remaining until the mentor application deadline. Yesterday we hit the 5,000 mark in the total number of mentors needed! This is a testament to the thousands of mentors that return year after year to support a new group of students!
We need your help to continue to find new volunteers in your community to serve in this critical role. Over 250 students still need mentors in Williamson County.
Interested mentors can apply at www.tnachieves.org/mentors/apply. You can contact Graham Thomas at (615) 604-1306 or graham@tnachieves.org for additional information.
Below you will find a map with each county’s mentor recruitment progress. Almost every count still needs mentors to ensure each student is paired with this important non-financial support system.
