[ARCHIVED] Current Status - Thompson's Station COVID-19 Response

Town Hall / Caboose 4

The Town of Thompson’s Station wants residents to know that essential Town departments will remain open and public services remain operational during this emergency.  We are focused on maintaining the health, safety and welfare of our citizens and Town staff members and are asking for all citizens to try to accomplish things remotely or, if dropping off, to use the slot in the front door of Town Hall.  We will update this list as the situation evolves; please check back regularly or sign up for Notify Me to receive emails with important Town information.

Town Facilities have undergone extensive cleaning to reduce the risk to the public. We encourage anyone needing to pay utility bills to do so online, over the phone (877-285-3271), through the mail, or through our drop box located on the front door of Town Hall (1550 Thompson’s Station Rd West).  Walk-ins are discouraged at all facilities.

Town Hall: We are open but have restrictions on entering the building.  Phone calls are preferred: (615) 794-4333

Community Development: We are continuing to accept plans and permit applications but have restrictions on entering the building.  Visitors must schedule any appointments which are necessary (Jennifer Jones 615-794-4333 ext. 12).  Drop-in visits are discouraged.

Community Center: This building will not be allowed to be rented through April and possibly further.  It will not host the public meetings here as those will be held remotely.

Parks: The parks remain open at this time for hiking/biking and the bathrooms & playground/workout equipment are now open for use by visitors.  We encourage all visitors to adhere to the Executive Order 17 recommendations and to practice social distancing while in the parks.  Reservations for the Park Pavilions will not be allowed until after the emergency has passed.

Public Meetings - All remaining meetings for March have been cancelled.  April meetings for the Board of Mayor and Alderman and Planning Commission will be held remotely and live-streamed on the Town’s website (www.thompsons-station.com) in accordance with Executive Order 16 from Governor Lee.  The BOMA Work Session and Regular meeting for May will be held remotely and with Gov. Lee’s orders expiring on the 18th, the Utility Board (20th) and Planning Commission (26th) will be held on-site at the Community Center (1555 Thompson’s Station Rd West) while maintaining social distancing and adhering to CDC guidelines.  We will be updating when new information is available.

Community Center – The Town is not accepting any reservations for the Community Center and any scheduled events through June have been cancelled.  It is possible the center will be closed further.

Sewer Service – The Town will continue to provide sewer services to residences.  We encourage residents to pay online, mail payments in or use the drop-off slot in the front door of Town Hall.  Our Finance Director is available by phone during office hours (8:30 – 5pm) @ 615-794-4333 ext. 4 for billing questions.  For sewer emergencies, contact our Wastewater Operators anytime @ 615-794-4333 ext. 11.
