DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY
On March 23, 2020, the Town issued a Declaration of Emergency. On March 30, 2020, the Town renewed its Declaration of Emergency. Effective April 6, 2020, the Town of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee hereby renews its Declaration of Emergency and adds to the previous Declaration as follows:
On April 2, 2020, Governor Lee issued Executive Order 23. I want the citizens of Thompson’s Station to specifically be aware of and adhere to the Governor’s order, which requires all persons in Tennessee to stay at home, except for when engaging in Essential Activities or Essential Services as defined in the Order.
On April 4, 2020, Governor Lee issued Executive Order 24, wherein several deadlines and restrictions were relaxed or extended, as well as a declaration that an abnormal economic disruption continues to exist in Tennessee and the price inflation (price gouging) is prohibited.
I encourage everyone to read the entirety of the Executive Orders, which can be found at sos.tn.gov. Our priority is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our community.
The power granted to municipal mayors and their governing bodies by the state legislature is limited in circumstances of this nature, but we continue to communicate and work with Williamson County and various state agencies to control and treat the spread of the virus in our community. This declaration will be reviewed and evaluated for modification as necessary.
We will get through this together.
Mayor Corey Napier
