[ARCHIVED] Mayor Napier Renews Declaration of Emergency for Thompson's Station

DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY

Effective April 6^th-13th, 2020, April 13^th -20^th, 2020, April 20^th -27^th, April 27^th - May 3rd, May 3rd - May 11th and May 11th -May 18th, the Town of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee did and hereby does renew its Declaration of Emergency, which is being made pursuant to state and local authority, to include, but no limited to, TENN. CODE ANN. § 58-8-104(a) and adds to the previous Declaration as follows:
On April 13th, 2020, Governor Lee issued Executive Order 27 to extend the temporary social distancing and stay-at-home provisions of prior orders until April 30, 2020. I want the citizens of Thompson’s Station to specifically be aware of and adhere to the Governor’s orders, which generally provide for the following:
In Executive Order No. 21, businesses or organizations that perform close-contact personal services and entertainment or recreational gathering venues shall not be open to members of the public.

In Executive Order No. 23, all persons in Tennessee are required to stay at home, except for when engaging in Essential Activity or Essential Services as defined in the Order.

In Executive Order No. 29, restaurants are allowed to reopen for in-house service in 89 counties in Tennessee while still following CDC guidelines for social distancing. Some larger cities will remain closed. See Gov. Lee’s Tennessee Pledge plan regarding the phased reopening here.

Our priority is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our community.
The power granted to municipal mayors and their governing bodies by the state legislature is limited in circumstances of this nature, but we continue to communicate and work with Williamson County and various state agencies to control and treat the spread of the virus in our community. This declaration will be reviewed and evaluated for modification as necessary.
