A recent hiker (Mr. Ward Engle of Thompson’s Station) on Depot Trail in Preservation Park snapped this picture of a bobcat while on his hike. Bobcat sightings in Middle Tennessee are not uncommon and with 200+ acres of preserved land, the Park provides for an abundance of local wildlife. Much of the surrounding land is unoccupied which encourages wild animals to make the place their home. Experts say bobcats are shy and typically avoid humans, but visitors are advised to keep their dogs leashed and use caution. Other wild animals have been spotted in and around Preservation Park including turkey, deer and skunks.
