Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson announced a mask mandate for Williamson County through the end of the year, the mayor announced at a press conference on Thursday with other county and city officials.
Anderson said the mandate would begin Saturday, Oct. 24 at midnight.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the Tennessee Department of Health reported 709 active cases, including 921 new reported cases in the last 14 days.
Anderson said he collaborated with all the mayors in Williamson County, health officials and school officials to reinstate the mask mandate.
The order will continue through the end of October. When Gov. Bill Lee signs the new executive order extending mayor’s authority to extend mask mandates through the end of the year, Anderson will issue a new order.
