[ARCHIVED] Current Status - Thompson's Station COVID-19 Response

Town Hall / Caboose 4

The Town of Thompson’s Station will be adjusting to the current state of events concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are focused on maintaining the health, safety and welfare of our citizens and Town staff members and are asking for all citizens to try to accomplish things remotely or, if dropping off bills or other, to use the slot in the front door of Town Hall.

The State of Emergency from Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson requires the use of face-masks in public spaces where social distancing cannot be adhered to.  This order will be in effect until October 30th but is planned to be extended for all residents to the end of the year.  Please see the Wm Cnty Oct. 22nd Press Release for details on the face-mask rule.

Town Facilities have undergone extensive cleaning to reduce the risk to the public. We encourage anyone needing to pay utility bills to do so online, over the phone (877-285-3271), through the mail, or through our drop box located on the front door of Town Hall (1550 Thompson’s Station Rd West).  Walk-ins are discouraged at all facilities.  Anyone wishing to meet in-person with a staff member will need to arrange an appointment and meet in our Community Center while wearing a face-mask.  If meeting participants do not have a mask, one will be provided.

Town Hall: We are open but have restrictions on entering the building.  Phone calls are preferred: (615) 794-4333 ext. 1

Community Development: We are continuing to accept plans and permit applications but have restrictions on entering the building.  Visitors must schedule any appointments which are necessary (Micah Wood 615-794-4333 ext. 3 & Jennifer Jones 615-794-4333 ext. 12).  Drop-in visits are discouraged.

Parks: The parks remain open at this time for hiking/biking and the bathrooms & playground/workout equipment are now open for use by visitors.  We encourage all visitors to adhere to the sanitation and social distancing recommendations while in the parks.  Reservations for the Park Pavilions will not be allowed until after the emergency has passed but are available for use on a first-come/first-serve basis.  Contact the Town Clerk @ 615-794-4333 ext. 1 or info@thompsons-station.com for more information.

Public Meetings - Meetings for the Board of Mayor and Alderman, Utility Board, Parks Board and Planning Commission will be held remotely through electronic means, and live-streamed on the Town’s website (www.thompsons-station.com).  Governor Lee has extended the allowances for remote public meetings through December 2020 with Executive Order 63.  We will be updating when new information is available.

Community Center – The Town is not accepting any reservations for the Community Center and any scheduled events through December have been cancelled.  It is possible the center will be closed further.

Sewer Service – The Town will continue to provide sewer services to residences.  We encourage residents to pay online, mail payments in or use the drop-off slot in the front door of Town Hall.  Our Finance Director is available by phone during office hours (8:30 – 5pm) @ 615-794-4333 ext. 4 for billing questions.  For sewer emergencies, contact our Wastewater Operators @ 615-794-4333 ext. 11 and leave a detailed message.
