Winter Storm 2021
Message of the Day:
• Snow/wintry mix moves in from the southwest this afternoon • West of the plateau, precipitation should be mainly snow • Along the plateau, a wintry mix could change over to rain • First wave moves out late tonight • Second wave moves in from the west during the morning • This wave will be a mix of rain, sleet, and snow depending on location • The northwest will remain below freezing • The east will get above freezing and transition to rain

Additional scattered power outages will be possible. Timing: Round 1: This afternoon through late tonight Round 2: Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon Areas Impacted: All of Middle Tennessee Confidence: Timing and Impacts- Medium to High Accumulations and Precip Type: Low to Medium
The road conditions outside remain difficult to navigate as crews continue to work to clear the roads. TDOT crews continue to focus on state roads as working through the ice is requiring different efforts than the use of salt. It is recommended for citizens to stay home and not drive if possible, as well as exercise caution if needing to walk outside the home. Another round of less than pleasant weather is expected to begin Wednesday. A first small round of snow will start around 1600-1700 and will be followed by a sleet/snow mix beginning midnight on Thursday. There has been a reported 2 inches sleet (with a small coating of snow) which has fallen since the event started.
Williamson County Parks and Recreation will remain closed (15 February 2021).
• The Convenience Centers remain closed.
• Williamson County Schools are closed for the inclement weather.
