Ordinance 2021-005 was passed unanimously by the Board of Mayor and Alderman at the March 9th, 2021 BOMA meeting. The Ordinance removes the $55.00 cap on residential wastewater bills (effective March 10th, 2021) and also changes how the user rates are calculated for both residential and non-residential properties and establishes a new base rate of $29.00 per user (effective July 1, 2022). This comes after nearly a year of discussion and evaluation by BOMA, the Utility Board and MTAS Consultants. (See the MTAS presentation and discussion about the changes at the Feb. 9th, 2021 BOMA Work Session.)
