1. How do I get a business license?

Detailed information and online forms can be located on our Business Licenses webpage. The Town's Finance Director handles new businesses in Thompson’s Station.

License renewals are handled by the Tennessee Department of Revenue. They verify tax information and send notice to us to renew the license.

2. How is my wastewater bill calculated?

Water meter usage information is obtained from HB&TS and is used to calculate monthly wastewater billing amounts. The wastewater fee is calculated the same for all customers that discharge to the Town's wastewater system.

Monthly Fee: $29.00

Usage Fee: $8.10 per 1000 gallons of water used 

 

Example: HB&TS Water bill usage of 5000 gallons.

 

5000/1000 = 5 x $8.10  = $40.50 + $29.00 = $69.50 monthly fee

3. When is my wastewater bill due each month?

The Town sends out sewer bills at the end of the month with the due-date set for the 25th of following month. In the event that the 25th falls on a weekend, the bill will be due on the next business day.
